We're speaking to the local genealogical society on Thursday, July 17th at 1:00 pm.

We'll tell some Irish stories, but focus on the Irish clans, Irish naming practices, and the departure of Irish to North America. We'll also talk about the many sources of information available for genealogical resources, and the many difficulties and hazards involved in the search.

We're delighted to speak to the group, and we hope we are up to the task. These folks are quite good and dedicated, but perhaps we can pass on a wee bit of helpful information.

The society has partnered with the Traverse Area District Library, and thousands of books, newsletters, microfiche, etc., with a wide variety of records and "how to" sources. Check out the library's partner page.

The session is at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3746 Veterans Drive, Traverse City, Michigan.
