The Stanley Hotel

Shining in Estes Park
This hotel might remind you of the hotel in The Shining. It should.

Stephen King stayed here one night in 1974, and it was enough to inspire him to write The Shining. ClanDonnell attended a reception here, for the honored guests of the Rocky Mountain Irish Festival. It was during the day time in the summer time, but it was enough to thoroughly spook us.

The hotel is, indeed, haunted. Patrons have seen many paranormal activity and a few ghost sightings. We saw a few leprechauns under the subfloor, we think.

But it is a beautiful hotel, in a classic mountain setting.

More on the hotel is at the Stanley Hotel website.
