Elk Rapids District Library

Elk Rapids, Michigan
A return engagement of sorts.

We’ve done gigs with the Elk Rapids District Library before – once at the Elk Rapids Historical Society and Museum and twice at Cellar 152 Wine and Gourmet Market. But this will be the first actually held at the library.

The library is located on the town’s Grand Traverse Bay harbor, in the former residence of the town’s founding families. It’s known as the ”Island House” and, indeed, is located on a small, unnamed island at the mouth of the Elk River.

We gave the library staff a list of options for the program – historical talk, Irish legends, humorous yarns, and even the historical truth about St. Patrick. We were told: “Do all of the above.” And so we will!

The event is St. Patrick’s Day eve, March 16th, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. We’ll hang out until the library closes, then move to the nearest pub.

UPDATE:

Sad to say our storytelling event, scheduled for St. Paddy’s Day eve, is cancelled. The Elk Rapids District Library is closed until further notice.

I think 2020 will be the year to write my third book.
